When asked about the most important of the 5 Rules:

"Everything is your responsibility."

"I thoroughly appreciated the style and substance of the Alpha Echo Project’s presentation at the 2020 US Lacrosse Convention. The passion, energy and insight that Alexis and Erik brought to those in attendance were as inspiring as their message. Those entrusted to serve as youth sport administrators and coaches must feel both confident and accountable in their roles.

The five principles Erik shared from his experience as an Army Ranger Rifle Infantry Platoon Leader were fully transferable to anyone in a position of leadership, particularly those involved with youth-serving organizations.  I was particularly struck by the simplicity and power of the first principle – Everything Is Your Responsibility. Perhaps a bit overwhelming and frightening to hear at first, the sense of urgency and empowerment that this statement conveys is essential to establishing and maintaining a dynamic youth sports environment free from abuse.

As Erik noted, “Amateurs practice until they get it right and professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.” As youth sport leaders, we are expected to be “professionals” in assuring a safer environment for young athletes, and we can’t get it wrong.

The Alpha Echo Project’s message would be valuable to any organization that aspires to lead and serve with distinction."
